Google Report: Only 31% of Indians Have Used a Gen AI Tool

As per a study by Google, about 60% of Indians are unfamiliar with the functionalities of AI, and so far only 31% have tried their hands on any Generative AI tool. However, Indians have the innate desire to use AI as a “growth collaborator” in their daily lives.

The report says that about 75% of Indians want an AI partner that can instill growth and solve complexities of life. Interestingly, this demand is not only limited to career or academics, but also factors in personal development too. About 84% want AI to help them with everyday creativity like trying out recipes or helping kids with homework, while 76% want to save time on daily tasks including travel planning or budgeting. Close to 68% struggle to get started on tasks, and 52% cite lack of skills or guidance as major hurdles.
